Maybe we have have a different cop. Maybe someone who is deeply religious. Who has there faith shaken but what they see.
Or maybe not. Maybe thats a bad idea. I don't know.

I would like to keep the cop idea, yeah. Not sure as to how it would pan out though as don't want to repeat ourselves. They too could be truely shocked by the crime which makes us believe even more so it is a demon so the shocking truth of it being a human is even more hard hitting.

What we should also do is fool the audience as much as possible. We should only reveal that it's a human in the final act. That may sound obvious but I just thought I'd mention. I also thought it might be good to have several different suspects. I just got finished watching a rerun of 'The Puppet Show' and I love they way it goes all over the place. You're even made to suspect Snyder at one point.
Sorry I was rambling a bit there. I like the cutting out of the heart part because so many demons do that (The Gentlemen, The Brotherhood of Seven to name two that we've seen) and that would fool the audience. I only wish Cordy was still around to reference the Brotherhood of Seven.
Anyway I was having another thought. What if there was a shapeshifter? One that could change into any form at any time, like Mystique of the X-Men. Maybe we can build something around that. Is that a good idea or not?

I think that episode should twist itself as many times as we can make it. That's what I'd expect from the real Angel writers.
How about some of the victims of the brutal killings are demons?

I'm not sure I like the idea of demons being killed. I think it would be good if we tried to emphasise as much as possible the 'normality' of these killings. I mean that it could happen in real life. This guy has not been effected by the powers of evil, he doesn't know about demons or vampires, he is just the dark side of the human spirit. A normal guy who turned into a killer for some reason. Try and keep it as real as possible while at the same time making the audience think it was a demon doing it. Then when we see it was a person killing these innocent people it will be even more shocking.
I think if people like this idea it would be cool to get some more suggestions like who does he target? Children, women, men? Who is he? Or is it a she? Those sort of things...

It's scarier when there doesn't seem to be a method behind the madness or even a pattern of any kind. Maybe a man gets killed first then maybe a child which really hits our cop character hard. As for the killer themselves I'm sort of leaning toward a woman. It's a rarity to have a female killer in movies. It would be something different.

Female killer would be cool, can only think of two female killers in movies so may not be expected. (Friday 13th and Scream 2 those two movies!)

Well there was Monster (but I'm not sure you may count that since it is based on a true story) and a couple of TV movies I've seen but you're right it would be unexpected.
Since we've got that figured out how about this cop character. What about him? Should it even be a him?

I think we need more on her first, who she is, where she came from, what drove her to this?

I like this idea very much and agree that perhaps it would be better if he just kills random people. Demons on a murder run aren't usually very picky about their victims.
But we also need to work out who is this person. I she like a female version of Jhonny Doe from Se7en? you know someone who has a dark and twisted perspective on the world, who is so convinced that the world is filled with so much evil and darkness but doesn't know about the true evils, the demons and such.

I like that idea, she just sees darkness everywhere even in innocent children. Does she need an event to cause these feelings or do you think she was born that way?
It could work either way but if there was an event it would have to be something that isn't to cliche.

Yeah, something really, and I mean really horrible has to have happened to give her that insight of the world, that pure hatred of humans.
Maybe she was like raped by someone who was like ten years younger than her or something...
And suddenly I don't feel like I am that good of a person...

I'd find it more disturbing if there wasn't a traumatic experience explaining her actions. She just is what she is. (As long as it can still be believable)

I like the idea that it was just a regular event that triggered her.
But I sure pity the guy that ends up writing this Ep. It's much easier to write something about a woman who snapped because a Mack. Truck ran over her two year old san than a story about a woman who snapped because she opened a door or something.

She may have done it to see if she can, then got such a rush from the deed she needed more. Kinda like a drug. She may have killed her husband in an argument but then gotten off on it instead of feeling the usual emotions and things just got out of hand.

She may have killed her husband in an argument but then gotten off on it instead of feeling the usual emotions and things just got out of hand. That's a great idea. That was actually an idea I had some time ago for a long abandoned script I was writing. However, what if she kills something in self-defense. Someone who was trying to kill her. It might be a bit more interesting to make her a victim at first. Especially if we play that up at the beginning. That would really throw the audience off. EDIT: You know I made a typo there. When I said 'something' I meant 'someone'. I meant an ordinary (all be it quite nasty) person. Sorry about the last few posts. Reading back they're a little incoherent at best. There are circumstances I'd rather not go into right now. I'm alright now however. Anyway I've been having some thoughts. About that cult idea I brought up. What if they were a cult that worships Angel. We already know he's an internet celebrity. Hmm?

I'm a fan of the cult idea - cults do such strange stuff anyway - I'm thinking Jim Jones and the People's Temple stuff - cults have a tendency to appear during times of great political strife - lots of them popped up during the Vietnam war and going back even further there were lots of cults focusing on mysticism and occult stuff during WW1.
Maybe that's another way to highlight the chaos - have lots of cults start showing up and doing wierd stuff.
