I really just love this method of releasing episodes here. You think you'll ever do the same thing as this but with an original idea?

Well like Monster Zero has said, I'm not really doing this to get on TV, just to finish the story that Joss couldn't finish because of the Whub. I'm not saying that if HBO or Showtime or even (shudder) Fox came to my door to do this season on TV I would turn them down. But our objective was to complete the story, not to get this "made" on TV. As for the prospect of doing an original series I guess I might... once we are done. Right now I don't think that I'll subsicribe to any project in order to be able to focus completly here. But once we are done if a group of people want to form an original series I would be thrilled. Or I could also join Everlong on Raven. But for now I just want to focus on Angel.

Truth is, I absolutely adore the idea of doing a group of different series under the FUWB banner (Raven is the first of what I hope will be a "full schedule"). Myself, I adore the opportunity to get the creative juices flowing, in as many ways as possible. Angel Season Six is Priority Number One; if the foundation isn't strong it all kinda goes south. Raven is set in Whedonverse (or at least I think it is... Everlong?), but I think it would be a good idea to work in some completely "original" concepts in there as well... I have an idea for a sitcom I'd love to pitch you guys sometime But, as they say, first things first! Though I honestly hope we could keep a lot of this same team together for future projects; I've never met another bunch of folks, online or off, that I seem to gel with so much. Christ, this starting to sound like an Oscar acceptance speech...

Don't just do it for the millions of fans, but do it especially for me!! hahaha

Actually (showing the cheap fashion of bringing it up), I may do one myself, but there are things I don't have. Such as: A. any clue how to manage a website let alone a forum (which would be needed) and B. a full team and C. Final Draft. I have a two-part pilot written, so if anybody wants to help me on this project let me know. Actually, it'd probably be best if I try to recruit people AFTER I join the FUWB. I just need to stop procrastinating and finish that Angel spec script, which should be any decade from now.

*points to the original virtual series he's doing...* www.somewhere-inbetween.co.ukI'm helping out with Raven and my forum, Monster Zero productions, is getting loads of original series off the ground. We could do some kind of FUWB alliance thing and help you guys get your own shows started!

Or I could also join Everlong on Raven. Well it's always nice to get a mention. I just hope we get enough people to get at least one season out. Or you won't have to cancel it.

Don't just do it for the millions of fans, but do it especially for me!! hahaha Well there is a wide amount of things that I could say about me being a joe-nobody that probably could never even be able to see a network executive, let alone pitch a show to him (ooh.. I made myself feel bad ). Bust instead, I'll say that I can't pitch the show to networks. The reason for this is that I currently live in Costa Rica. This means that I could only pitch the show to our local broadcasting network. Said network only produces two cheapo sitcoms at the time and would never be able to afford having a show like Angel. So as much as I would love to do a TV show version of this the odds of me being able to do it are slim...er. But if enyone wants to pitch it to a network please do.

I understand what you mean, but maybe we can all help you achieve it, by holding some kind of petition on the internet on who all wants to see a next season of Angel. And when we have a lot of people on that list, we can send it to a broadcasting company or maybe someone could walk up to them and throw that in their faces together with the scripts you have here. Maybe you think it's a terrible and stupid idea, but i thought I'll just say it anyway

Well with all due respect to you and Joss I don't think that would do much good. There were dozens of petions on the net to save Angel and none of them worked. Why would this be any different? I mean David Boreanez has moved on (I heard he doesn't want to play Angel again), Joss has moved on. I've just about accepted that I'll never see Angel again. As much as I hate to say this, can't we leave it at that?

And I think we're all forgetting that we do not own the rights to Angel - we did not create it - and therefore we would have no right to pitch this show. It's out of our hands. And absolutely impossible.

It's out of our hands. And absolutely impossible. Guess it all boils down to that. I think that the guy that said the key thing was Everlong. Thousands of people signed stuff to keep the real Angel alive. Those failed. That was an Angel that had Joss Whedon, Jeff Bell, David Fury, Steven S. DeKnight, ext. behind it. We are just guys that are putting together an internet project, we have even less of a chance of being heard. In addition to this there are at least four other of these projects out there on the net. Why do we deserve to get chosen above them? On top of all this there is no way that we would be able to get as much people to sign a petition as the "Save Angel" campaigns did. And they failed. David Borreanaz has now said repeatedly that he is not interested in reprising the character. And as Drew has said we really don't have any legal right to pitch the show. I just can't see it done. So I am content to being able to complete the story. And I am afraid that we will have to leave it at that.

My Thoughts on "Winning"[/i]
All right I just finished reading the first episode of your virtual season and I have to say that I am absolutely stunned. You can rest assured that you have one more enthusiastic fan under your banner. But I want to try to do an oficial review of this episode so here it goes.
The Good
-The writer of this episode, Drew, has some truly incredible skills. All of the dialouge is fluid and the action is clear and brisk. The episode moves at an appropriate rate, balancing extremly well between the high amounts of exposition this episode needed being the season opener, the humor that is of course clasical to all Whedon shows, and the Angel patented violence. I expect that whenver I see that an episode is written by Drew I'll get excited and know that a true masterpiece will follow.
-The character of Tobit is a worthy addition to the cast of Angel. He reminds me a lot of Doyle. He provides great comedy and the casting of Alan Tudyk was spot-on perfect for this character. The powers that be have long remained mysterious to everyone but they seem to have a very direct contact with this man. Even the senior partners have been known to have contact with this world often but the powers have stayed isolated for a long time. How did this man get to be where he is, in contact with those beings that have for so long stayed hidden and secret? I can't wait to learn more about him.
-The setting. The demon center is an interesting idea. At first I thought that this might be a bit risky as it makes the demons feel a bit too human but as the episode progressed I found myself greatly enjoying the place and its wacky residents. I hope we get to see a lot more about Saul, Craig, Jake, and Lyrica.
-The plot of the episode was excelent. Even while setting the character up into the show's new setting the writer was able to set up a great story. The truth is that I might have been bored if the story had continued as it seemed it would but the final act twisted it around enough times to make seem truly Joss Whedon worthy. Kudos!
-One big problem with fanfiction is the fact that often the writers change the characters in order to do what they want. This problem was not present here. Angel was Angel. Spike was Spike. And Illyria was very definetly Illyria.
-Saul the Soul Detector. Not only is it a catchy name but also it also presents a brilliant security system for the center. The concept of souls has long been thought as of human. To see it applied to demons, to show that it is a universal distinction, is great. The explanation to how a soul works is truly great and I feel very Whedonesque. It's all about choice.
The Bad
-It was pretty cool, but I don't really see the relevance of the demon that attacks Angel and Illyria at the mansion. That bit was all a bit weird. Can Illyria predict the future? Why was that demon so hell-bent on killing them? These questions go on for a bit, but my main one is: How does this affect the story? I just don't get how this is important to the episode... or the reason why it is in there at all.
-That... is pretty much it.
Other
There was quite a bit of things that I thought were foreshadowing. The following are some things which I think may be important in the future or I just thought were curious/funny:
- Tobit's gloves... I am completly sure that if I were watching it on TV I wouldn't even have noticed, or even if I had I would have just thought, "Oh cool, that guy is wearing gloves". But since the script stressed how he was wearing gloves I can't help but feel that this will be important.
- The fire through which Tobit talks to the PTB. It reminded me a bit of the white room. But here is the curious thing. The Senior Partners, who are evil, communiocate through the white room. White is often thought of as calmness and serenity. The powers, who are good, communicate via a room of fire. Fire often reprsents destruction and/or chaos.
- Angel and Illyria shared a bit of a conflcit when they were at Vail's house. I hope that this conflict between them is explored further. It is very interesting thing which I feel opens up a variety of posibilities.
- Poor Angel. He really wanted to kill the dragon.
- Spike calling the slave "Smeagol". For some reason this single line I find simply perfect. It sounds like something that Whedon himself penned. For me that is the best line in the episode.
- Killing Gunn was just plain cruel. I was already reeling from Wesley's death and you guys tell me that good ol' gunn is also gone? Shame on you! He will be sorely missed.
- The old woman at the end. I have to say that I have absolutely no idea who (or what) that could be. But if you wanted to create intrigue you have succeeded. I am very curious to find out how is it that torches both demons and humans.
- Angel winning. The show has always been about how the fight never ends. But if Angel won how will this affect his eternal struggle?
- This last item on my list is just a prediction of mine.. but if I am right it could prove to contain HEAVY SPOILERS. You have been warned. Gina Tores, Nathan Fillion, and Adam Baldwin have all been Firefly veterans who thanks to Whedon have ended up playing villians in Angel and Buffy the Vampire Slayer respectively. Tobit is played by... Alan Tudyk, another Firefly veteran. So I can't help but feel that Tobit isn't as well and good as he is being portrayed here. I really hope I'm wrong, Tobit is a great character and I don't want him to end up being evil but that is one hell of an interesting casting choice.
Final Word:
An excelent starter that has without a doubt got me hooked. Major kudos to Drew for writing this masterpiece. I am eager to read more episodes.
I rate it: 9/10

Found it this evening, and couldn't stop reading till I hit the end of ep4. And I'll be back later on to read the rest (near on 1am in the morn here)..
First, let me say I've read through a lot of other attempts at season6. I found none that match the real characters as they are portrayed by the actors themselves. Your first story drew me in, hook line and sinker - without even realizing it, I can truly envision your script as an Angel episode. It is well done, and well thought out. Congratulations!
9.4/10 for "Winning". And please keep it coming!
