Okay guys, since Lindsay, Wesley, Lorne, and Harmony (or is she?) are all gone we need to bring in some new recruits. I would like to have three or four characters join Angel, Gunn, Illyria, and Spike as the main characters (or characters that appear on opening credits)
Now, I was thinking of bringing back someone from BTVS. The most obvious choice would be Buffy, but since her and The Immortal are crotch-buddies now (and because I got an idea for a story twist involving her) I´d rather have someone else. My second choice was Xander, but we´re running kinda low on female characters. In my opinion it should be Willow.
That would leave space for two or three characters created entirely by us. If you got an idea for a brand-new Angel character place some info about him and his past here.

I think that Oz would be a good choice as someone who could crossover from Btvs to Atvs
Oz could be brought in to help Nina understand about being a Werewolf and to help her control the Beast inside, much like Oz managed to do. There could also be a spark of romance between the two, seeing as they are both werewolves, that could put a strain on Angel's newly found relationship with Nina. I just think that Oz and Nina would make the perfect couple in the show.
I also feel that Willow and Giles could be brought in as special guests, to separate Fred and Illyria into two separate entities. That way, viewers would be able to have two female roles in the form of Fred and the newly looking Illyria in her female-demon form.
I agree with the fact that more female characters should be put into place, as Season Five of Angel was lacking female characters.
I think that if a Season Six of Angel was to start that the new character line-up should be:
Oz (main character) Willow (guest appearance) Fred (main character) Illyria (played by different actress and in demon form) Buffy (guest appearance) Giles (guest appearance) Nina (main character)

Yeah, these boards are pretty weird at first, the whole being able to post without joining throws a lot of people off at first.
Hmm, I had never really thought about Oz... he could work out pretty nicely.
Now... about Illyria and Fred issue, I am pretty much against that idea of them becoming seperate entities because: (REMEMBER, I am not trying to insult anybody here, just placing my very own ideas/opinions)
A. The show made it pretty clear that Fred´s soul was anihilated. Now, I know some people are arguing that Illyria said that Fred was in heaven, but I believe that was a comforting lie for Wesley on his deathbed.
B. I think that Fred returning is well, ya know, cheesy (ONCE AGAIN, NOT INSULTING ANYONE, JUST BELIEVE IT IS A BAD IDEA). I am pretty oposed to characters returning from the dead. I was pretty disapointed by the way Buffy was brought back, it just seemed too, you know... easy. Just having Willow show up and return Fred to life is simply too easy a solution for me.
Sorry if I am getting repetitive but, I DID NOT MEAN TO INSULT ANYONE, I APPRECIATE YOUR IDEAS, JUST PLACING MY OWN OPINION ON THAT ISSUE.

I'd like to see Eve come back, it never showed her being killed. Shes a smart girl, maybe she made it out. I think I missed an episode, but what happened to Dru, is it possible she can come back?

Dru,
I quite honestly don´t know what happened to her Angelus. I think that she came back to Angel for one episode, and then there was that episode of BTVS where we find out just how obsessed with Buffy Spike was. I don´t remember if she got staked or something at the end of that one.

A good female would be Faith. She always believed in Angel and would probably be in the area. Wolfram and Hart's attack would get noticed by the supernatural world and as soon as Faith got word she would rush to Angel's side to help. And what better gruop for her to be with when she wants to atone for her past.

Okay, so so far we got
Angel Gunn Spike Illyria Oz(?) and Faith (?)
on the team. The (?) stands for posibly. Now, I don´t want to have just transitionary characters, I want brand-new ones too.
Now, my idea for a new character was this: I would like to have a character a la Book in Firefly. It could start off as a seemingly harmless man and then it could be revealed how he really has an incredible expertise in magic and a very, very dark past.

What about a female watcher - or since the council was destroyed, a watcher of one of the slayers in training who went looking for her slayer and ended up in LA because, well, no more Sunnydale. She could be a little naive because she was maybe just starting as a watcher, and versed in magic, like Wes was into demons, and maybe once again the issue of overusing the magic becomes a problem for later on in the season.
I always thought the idea of female watcher was interesting because a) all the slayers are female and b) it's such a male-centric organization. OR was ...

Okay guys, FYI, this is the way I plan to do this:
Here we just place as many sugestions for characters as we can.
Then I´ll open two polls, one for the returning characters of BTVS and one for the all-new characters. The three characters that get the most votes get added to Spike, Illyria, Gunn, and Angel as a main character.
But don´t despair, even if your character is not among the top three he can always be a guest character.
Oh, and BTW, there will not be three returning characters or three brand-new characters. There will be one from one category and two from the other one.

A potential problem with an unassuming man with arcane knowledge and a dark past is it may seem Wesley-like. Imho

Good point...
Cliff note: I meant a MUCH darker past than Wesley. I was thinking maybe some kind of a ex-Bounty Hunter, you know, someone who used to kill men, torture for pleasure, ext.
Hang on a sec... now that I read it it reminds me a tad about Angelus...

How about a male slayer. If the PTB do send Angel and the gang to another dimension to escape Wolfram and Hart's forces, why not somewhere where they can do some good. In this dimension slayers are male and most societies are female-centric including the Watchers Council. However slayers here don't work like Buffy, instead they are used as political pawns and assassins by the council. When the gang seeks help from the council they meet up with one of two current slayers whose innate slayer heritage tells him this way of life is wrong but generations of social conditioning make it hard for him to act. In the end he goes with Angel and the gang to their dimension hopeful that his controversial defiance of the council may help cause reform and knowing he was too afraid to take a more active approach.

What about another Slayer, a young one, who perhaps has some demon heritage somewhere in her?

That's a pretty cool idea about the male slayer thing. It does remind me a bit too much of Groo, though. And another problem is that I read a quote from Joss (I think) where he said that there will never be a male slayer. I know it's another dimension but I'm hardpressed to go against any Joss rules.

I don't know if anyone already brought this up but I think I am 100% in favor of bringing Groosalug back. He is one of my favorite characters, and he is noble and hilarious. But he will be changed since we last saw him of course. And maybe he could be paired with Illyria. Both came from different worlds. Groo. Groo, people! Think about it.

Okay second update. So far we have:
Angel Gunn Illyria Spike Oz (?) Faith (?) A unassuming man with arcane knowledge and dark past (?) A Female Watcher (?) A Male Slayer (?) I´m backing up Drew here, it would be against some pretty big Joss-verse rules A young Slayer (?) The Groosalug (?) And Principal Wood (?)
for the team. Once again the (?) stands for "Possible Applicant"
