The decisions not entirely Spike's, but it'll be interesting if he's forced to pick sides. Especially if he and Illyria get a chance to bond early in the season.

What if Dru had a link to someone/something that will save an innocent person but she isn't sure she wants to help so Spike 'talks her around.'

Yeah, I think that we should probably have Angel as a kind of lone wolf during most of the season. Maybe with the return of Fred he could begin to return back into the gang but in the beginning he should be with a pretty "Screw everyone/you" attitude.,

That would work after all he had been through last year. Cordy, Fred, Wes and Gunn all dead, Lorne gone... it would make you distance yourself from people wouldn't it?

Maybe at the beginning he could still hang around with the other two guys, or in other words the vampire and the former demon god-king of the world, but after he gets the boot from Nina and his attempt to re-install Angel Inv. fails miserably he could go to the full 100% loner place for a time.

What, and have him be Mr Billowy Coat King of Pain all over again?
Why not have him become friends with Grace eventually - or we could introduce a fighter in the second arc that Angel could become friends with.

Well later on he can become friends with Grace and Tobit or posibly Spike, with some form of major divine intervention.
But for like three episodes he should go to loner mode.

I like this idea that Dru should return because the Fang Gang needs. Thing is, we would have to come up with a really good reason for Angel to accept working with her. Anybody got any ideas? They need her visions. But I was thinking shes is stronger than she was before. I dunno if things with Andrew have been set in stone yet... But maybe Andrew has a couple slayers and Dru could be the one to kill them, being inexperienced and all. But killing a handful of slayers, having all that blood has given her more power mader her much more of a deadly vamp. so they kinda gotta get her under control at first then keep her on a short leash cuz they're using her. then when theyre done with her Spike should kill the bitch

Particularly the last sentence. After a brief emotional trip Spike could walk up to her and softly and romantically whisper in her ear "Fuck you" and stake her.

No! No staking of the Dru!
If you are insistent on bringing her back, it shouldn't be to kill her - she should serve a purpose that furthers the storyline.
Every show needs a crazy person - maybe bring Dru back once Fred & Illyria have split so Illyria's not the only one spouting nonsense.

Yeah, okay Liza and chris are right. No staking of Dru.
But in general I like the ideas PuppetCancer posted. What 'bout you guys? Any thoughts on them?

When would Dru kill these slayers? Not in the second episode, right? 'CAuse introducing Andrew and Dru at the same time might be too much. Or maybe it could work. Andrew could track her to LA, that's why he comes there. And then once he's there, we have reason for him staying.

We could do it like this:
We learn that Andrew left Buffy and Co. behind because something bad happened and Andrew doesn't want to talk about it. Everytime it comes up he abbruptly changes the converstation topic or leaves the room.
Then around ep. 13 Dru could show up and it be revealed that the something was that Dru killed four junior slayers Andrew was escorting somewhere.
Or something to that effect.

Yeah that would be cool but I really think Spike's main arc shouldn't depend on Dru.

Yeah that would be cool but I really think Spike's main arc shouldn't depend on Dru. Very true. This is more suited for the Single Episode Discussion thread. I'd expect Illyria to try to take advantage of the early chaos. She'd recognize it's an opportunity regain some of the influence she lost. Spike could be the one to talk her down. It could be a B plot in episode 3.

Yeah I like that, she did give up on world domination fairly early! hehe Shame she lost all her powers. I still like the idea of Spike getting close to Illyria only to betray her when he tries to save Fred.

Orginally posted on the "Single Episode Ideas" thread. Thought that it was pretty, make that very, good and that it would also help if it was posted here. So here you all go. Enjoy:
Spike.
He went through an arduous journey in Buffy, got his soul back, became one of the "good guys" for real, then died a hero's death.
Then, semmingly as fan-service (not that I mind too much, as he is one of my fave characters), he's tagged onto the Angel cast. The problem is, they went an entire 22 episodes with him, but I never felt they ever gave a real *reason* for him to continue to be there, other than as a comedic foil for Angel.
Now that it's been agreed that Shanshu is basically out of the picture, why is Spike still haunting Angel?
He fought the good fight, and continues to do so, but I'd really like to know WHY. Other than constant mentions that he has a soul, it's hard to tell that because his behavior has more or less returned to what it was in his pre-soul days. There's a very obvious behavioral difference between Angel and Angelus, and, I think, a very real reason why souled Spike is not so different from de-souled William the Bloody.
Andrew would be a good character to add into such an ep, as he has seen the much tamer side of Spike. You could even make it a humorous ep (my fave, anyway), sort of like the Buffy where Andrew was interviewing everyone for his docu "Buffy, the Slayer of the VamPires." Only instead of interviews, it could be like Andrew playing Spike's Freud, trying to get at the heart of exactly why he acts the way he does (and examining Spike's relationship with his mother, tee-hee).
I know it'd be a challenge to set up, but it could finally give us a raison-d'etre for Spike.

ITA with everyone- Dru should not be Spikes main arc. but she can propel him I was looking at her showing up and whatever eventuall Spike decided to do with her as a metaphor; showing how much Spike has changed.
IMO, I think any ep with Dru should be a 2 parter. I mean, theres gonna be a lot of drama there for one ep.
and I was thinking maybe for part 2(or whatever) a nice little twist would be that Spike wants to kill her and Angel is the one trying to save her, trying to get her out of dodge as he probably has remorse for making her what she is
