If you had the powers of the almighty Whedon, what character or characters would you choose for a spinoff, and why?

Spike and Illyira because they're the only ones that i think can hold they're own in a new show

To get things started (and to get my post count up ), here are mine (and I'm sure they've been bouncing around most fanboys' noggins) 1) The most obvious: SPIKE. They've been hinting around at the idea, and let's face it, outside the Big Two, he probably has the most potential for stories. Here we have a guy who started as an effeminent nancy boy poet, became one of the most evil, sadistic monsters the world had seen, fell in love with a slayer, boinked said slayer, got his soul in the hopes that said slayer could love him in return, saved the world, pitched in for one of the most hopeless battles ever against the Senior Partners and their minions, and then... Well, hell, you could go damn near anywhere from there, assuming he survives the battle. Given that he's now apparently the true heir to the Shanshu prophecy, he finally has a bigger reason to walk the straight and narrow, and given his personality before losing his soul, I see his journey being very different from Angel's.

OOps, got beat to the "Start off" punch! Oh, well, onward...
2) FAITH. Yes, I know the idea has come and gone, but she too has gone through quite the evolution of character. Besides, it would be cool to see a slayer who has just as hard a time fighting her inner demons as she does the literal ones.

3) THE WATCHER'S COUNCIL. Again, ideas are already in the works (and have been for sometime), but I'd like to see more than just a focus on Giles. With the operation spread globally, you could make it an anthology series of sorts, where each episode focuses on a different character in a different location, but all tie in to a central storyline. And of course, a few of those episodes would have to focus on the Scoobies ;D

4) A RIPPER series that takes place in the past, with Ethan Rayne, et al. Obviously you coudn't use Tony Head, but...

5) Something with Riley.... with all the successful military series in the past, surely one with a Whedonesque spin would have at least a modicum of success!

6) and last, for tonight anyway, OZ OZ OZ!!! He was by far the coolest of the Scoobies, and he wasn't around nearly long enough! I want to know what he's been up to for the last several years!

Hmm, this is not as easy as I originally thought - but one of my favorite characters has been Wesley - you think Spike has done a major transformation, what about Wes - he went from being a Peter Sellers type clown to Dark!Wes and back to normal - plus, former Watcher ... of course, with him being dead it would have to be set when he was much younger, like in Watcher's school or something.

THE HYPERION:
The hotel reopens with Lorne as the lounge singer and an almost all demon clientel with stories of the week and a central evolving plot underlying.
note: I originally posted this idea on CityofAngel.com waaaay back around the middle of S5 and had ideas for Harmony and even Andrew to come on board.

I love that!!
It could have a weekly special celebrity guest that comes to get a reading from Lorne.

Hey....thanks! It was planned as a complimentary series to S5 so most of the work I put in to it (4 fully plotted episodes and 1 half-finished script that I stopped working on when Lindsey showed up in S5) wouldn't work today, even as fan-fic since I'm not really into "elseworlds" or "alternate reality" type stuff. Anyway, here is a rundown of some of the finer points: Cast: Stephen Root as The Manager Christian Kane as Lindsey Mercedes McNab as Harmony Tom Lenk as Andrew Wells and Andy Hallett as Lorne Whistler would show up in the first episode to tell the manager the true purpose of the Hyperion and was immediately murdered afterwards setting up the season long underlying story of "who killed the whistler?". Gru was supposed to show up toward the end of the first "season" and via necessity -become their new "cook"...as well as a major story device for later. lol, the more I think about it, the more I want to revamp it and do it later....maybe S6 will have a spin-off...

I did have this idea for a series. It wasn't really a spin-off. The only connection it had was that it was set in the same universe. It was kinda crap really. The same could have probably been accomplished by moving Buffy to New York.

I have an idea for a spinoff. Harmony! That's right, a show all about Harmony. Maybe she becomes like a demon talk show host? I could really see her becoming something like that.

oooooh I love this idea! It could be kind of a Sex in the City kinda thing... Harmony and her sex-starved, blood-starved single vampire friends, hanging out in bloodbanks, discussing their search for the perfect victim and the perfect pair of shoes!
Oh, how the mind boggles at the possibilities!
