oooooh I love this idea! It could be kind of a Sex in the City kinda thing... Harmony and her sex-starved, blood-starved single vampire friends, hanging out in bloodbanks, discussing their search for the perfect victim and the perfect pair of shoes! Oh, how the mind boggles at the possibilities! "Harmony in the City"? w00t! Somebody write this!

Buffy and Angel Spin-offs
Stygian Grounds – This spin off would be based in Cleveland (the new Hellmouth) and will focus on the rebuilding of the new Watchers Council here in America and the building of the Slayer Army. The backstory to fill in the void from the end of BtVS would be that some Slayers were sent to Cleveland and contacted by the remnants of the Initiative who want to give them their old training facility there in Cleveland. Don’t know how likely a spin off like this would be but it was just an idea so I posted it, feel free to expand, criticize or do nothing about.
More ideas to come at a later date.

Well!
Mine was called Chris & Sunday, and was an interesting idea...
First dreamt up during Season Four, I created a long lost brother for Spike, a chap called Chris. Chris had been a doctor who had a healthy interest in magic and the occult, using it to help his profession, when the newly-vamped Spike and Dru came back into town and tried to sire him.
Chris escaped, and made his way back to his home where he cast every single warding spell, charm and protective incantation on himself that he could find. When he awoke, he was part vampire, part human - somewhere inbetween.
Fast forward to the present day. I started writing this between Buffy Seasons Six and Seven, and episode 1x01 of Chris & Sunday has Chris how up in Sunnydale with a sidekick in tow, the vampire Sunday..
yep, that's right, Sunday from 4x01 'The Freshman.' Admit it, she was great ^_^ She changed as I wrote her, she was more of a tongue in cheek class clown than the sacrasm-a-tron from the show, but her setup was genius:
After Buffy staked her, Sunday ended up in Hell, trapped in a room where she was forced to relive her staking over and over again, day after day after day.
One evening, Chris mis-cast a summoning spell and dragged her back out of there, and when she'd calmed down she decided to tag along. She may not have a soul, but she knows where she's going if she stays evil, so she's doing everything she can to do good, balance the scales and max out her karmic potential.
After the first two episodes, the duo drift off on their own, battling the schemes of the demon gangster Malkuth, part vamp himself after managing to steal some of Chris' soul back when the two were partners. Malkuth wanted to turn Chris evil but the spell didn't work, leaving Chris with a hole in his soul...
What does Chris want? The cure. He believes there's a cure for vampirism out there in the world somewhere, and with Sunday's help he just might find it. But before hecan restore his humanity, he needs to find out how to get back his missing piece of soul from Malkuth...

whoo! that was a long post..
I've since turned the show into a non-Buffy related series, Somewhere Inbetween, turning Sunday into a character called Twist (but not having to rewrite her because she was already distanced from how we saw Sunday), and all being well it'll be up in its own site at the end of the month!
But if anyone's interested, I can send out the two PDFs of the first two episodes so you can see how it all worked..

It's funny how great minds can think alike. My Raven spin-off had similar ideas to what's been writen here.
First up, YoungGun's Cleveland idea formed a lot of the backstory of my main character.
Monster Zero's Chris and Sunday had a couple of elements I considered. Jessie 'Raven' Wallace started as a slayer but I changed the character into a half-vampire, half-human. I dropped this for two reasons. Firstly it seemed like I was ripping off Blade. Secondly I couldn't figure out how to make this change happen in a convincing way. I didn't want to use magic to make it happen but I had no other way to go.
I may resurrect Raven one of these days because she was one of the most well rounded characters I've written. I've actually had people tell me that.

Chris was a nicely set up character. I had a flash of creative insight that got me round his half status - he was a doctor whose motehr was a witch, and had discovered that he had some magical ability.
he'd been using it to help heal his patients for years without arousing suspicion, but when he gets attacked by a vamp he uses all the spells he can on himself to try and hold off the curse, and somehow manages to wake up the next day with his soul intact, despite being vampish in the whole strength/thirst for blood way.
So yeah, a little similar to Blade but Chris's character is entirely different which helps.

You know if we all just ran with our ideas, we'd probably keep the mutantverse alive longer than Fox could spin out crap.
If I had to pick a character to spin-of, my first choice would be Dawn. I can't help myself; I can't drop the Key idea. I'd also like to use someone like the Immortal, just because it would be a hoot to see what the guy was actually like. Illyria is someone I'd love to use, but I think I'd have trouble with her dialogue. I'd go for Gwen too, because she looks like the kind of character that will cause trouble in any group situation.
And Everlong, if someone has told you that your character is well-rounded, well dang, run with it and get a spinoff back on track. That has to be quite a hefty compliment to get.

It's the origin of the character I'm having trouble with.
Wait! I just had an idea. The 'Chump in the Night' episode. That would be the perfect way for her to get her powers. I'll have to ask Joss or Drew or someone if they are open to it but we'll see.
If not then you're always looking for spinoffs aren't you, MonsterZero?
