This idea might be a little weird.
Taking place in Arc II, a wicked witch steals from Angel his courage; from Spike, his brain; and Illyria already doesn't have a heart. You can see who they are: Angel: Cowardly lion Spike: Scarecrow Illyria: Tin(wo)man
Fred would fill the role of Dorothy - because this is no longer the world she knows - it is no longer her home. She'd be a really depressing Dorothy.
And - hell - I don't know, Andrew can be Toto. Maybe he gets turned into a dog - he always obeys, right?
And then they have to find a Wizard or kill the witch or both. I don't know.
Not sure what Tobit or Grace would do.
Anyway, just a wacky idea, don't know if it'll ever fly, but it makes me chuckle....where's that chuckling smiley?

Actually, I think it has possibilities.
They get transported to a strange whimsical land, find out each has lost their "thing" and have to travel a path to a wizard who points out that they can find what they lost only if they stay togeher.
OK, it's late, I haven't been home long - but still ... possibilities.

i like the idea. i mean i could see fred being dorothy and wearing those red shoes J/k! i think they should be transported into this sort of wizard of oz land. it could where little kids go to find something they lost and angel and the gang somehow get sucked in. i don't know i like the idea though.

I can totally see this being an absolutely hilarious episode like Spin the Bottle or Tabula Rasa or some other funny episode that doesn't have to do with memory loss.

Hmm, it might actually be really nice to have this turn out to be really dark and creepy. Because the second people realize that this is a parallel with the Wizard of Oz they are going to immediatly say "This is going to be so silly"
But instead it turns out to be really dark... Ooh, evil thoughts are coming to my mind....

As much as I like people agreeing with me this idea is Inyan's, he gets the credit here.

Okay...this is creepy.... Over the past few months I've been devising an original series set in the Whedonverse, kind of a hybrid of Angel and Buffy, and I've been checking out message boards like this to discuss show ideas, to help the people doing the shows and to get ideas for my own show. And about 2 weeks ago I came up with the idea of an episode paralelling The Wizard of Oz, thinking it would be great and silly and all....And here someone has the same idea. So, needless to say, I like it I think it might fit Angel better than what I'm working on, actually (maybe because the characters are more developed already, so it's easier to conceptualize...). I think one of the most enjoyable aspects of Whedon's shows was the episodes that ran with a completely abnormal story idea (Hush, Restless, Once More With Feeling, Smile Time)...it's what set his stories apart from anything else on television.

Not sure what Tobit or Grace would do. How about Grace: Good Witch Tobit: The Wizard I dunno. Just spending my time here looking through some of these old threads. Cause these thread haven't been deleted does that mean there is a chance they could still be made into an episode?

Yeah with Lorne as the wizard of L.A.
How would you do it though in a separate universe or in LA itself. Because each idea has its fair share of problems on why our characters would simply follow the story.
Maybe Hyperion or the Demon Shelter should get transported into another reality and land on some evil person but our heroes all loose their memories from the blast of power the dead person and they have to go through and meat the Wizard of <insert separate reality name>
The wizard ends up being Lorne and how he came here after the end of S5 and he sings all day long to the people of <realities name. > It would be a nice way to finish of Lorne’s character plus maybe throw in Angel or someone singing.

We decided early on that we didnt want Lorne to show up at all this season. We felt that his character had been given a very tragic but fitting end to his arc. Lorne left in a very big time, operetic kind of way that suited his character perfectly and pulling him out of retirement would just ruin that.

So forgive me for putting my idea forward if it conflicts with a point inappropriately put forward. Besides alls I’m saying is that it could be nice for us to see that Lorne found peace after his hardship. Plus it would kind of fit the episode.

I don't think we'll go beyond giving him a mention (Cordelia was mantioned in Buffy after she left after all) But I think's he's done with. It was signified by his "Good night, folks."

Point still stands you can't gang up on me because you didn’t ensure a point was put across properly.
This episode seems unworkable without a very good/memorable Wizard. Lorne seems to suit this role unless you can build a demon up in one episode like they did with Sweet. Or alternatively if the episode became a dream or vision for Angel or Fred it could have Tobit or someone as the Wizard.
But I still think if this episode were to go down a treat it would suit Lorne perfectly.
