It's a power she has no control over. It's just fear. An echo. Also, regarding the PTB becoming so powerful - like an imbalance - I don't know. . .the idea that Angel and Co. would have to make things eviler just puts me out. If anything, it would have to be done very carefully. I'm still pushing for Angel and Co. starting a Good Apocalypse at the end of the season, not a bad. And LizaP, I think the way she should "sway destiny and calibrate the balance" is by her shear will power, her utter devotion to doing good. She gave up her status as a PTB because she knew it was the only way she could help Angel. And she gave up that status because the Powers were under attack or something. I just like the parallel between the deposed SP and the deposed PTB. I didn't actually think they would make things "eviler" so much as do what they always do: find the not so obvious solution. Making things "eviler" would never be an option I would think. The good apocalypse, or grand revelation being that fuck the powers, fuck W&H, the only ones who really control destiny is you. The PTB, under the guise of "good" are doing the same thing W&H have done; manipulate others for their own agenda. The way to balance out the situation isnt to make things more evil, but to loosen the powers grasp on this dimension. With what you have established, Grace has already figured that out. The answer IS among them, it just depends how long it takes them to realize it. Uhm, or something, I just made that up as I went. I hadn't really figured out a solution either, but it wasnt to go evil.

Also, regarding what Jaxxson wrote about when grace feels something, people around her start to feel it, too. I also like that. Not sure how well it will work, but it's an interesting idea. it could also be that when it's sad, it rains - maybe that's cheesy, but something along those line.

Like if something is scaring Grace everyone around her becomes more and more paranoid until they're all freaking out. If she's in a good mood they all get upbeat about trivial stuff. If she's pissed off everyone starts to fight.

Why not? It could be done in such a way that the powers aren't so great, but that they are there. She has no control over them. They're just residual power. And possibly we would not have to reveal that she is causing it for a long while. Then, when they discover who she is, they realize that that has been the reason.

I like the concept that we are never quite sure of what her powers were but there are strange residual echoes of them at times.
Just have to figure out how we could convey that without it getting to obvious or silly.

Someone was talking about why Fred's soul was re emerging now when it had seemed as if it had been lost and how it could have something to do with Grace. What if Grace didn't even know she was doing it but everytime she was near Illyria it pushed Fred a little nearer to the surface. This could be another one of her powers, a link to the human soul (quite topical in Angel!!) and it also answers the question as to why Fred is back.

nice idea chris
How is Grace going to meet with Angel and his gang? If she doesn't remember what she was, and he doesn't know who she is, why will they start hanging out together? Has this been discussed already? Maybe she could be connected to whatever setting we pick.

How about having Angel meet Grace when he's out looking for soldiers - since Grace is assembling a team of her own maybe they could go after the same good guys?
Or have Angel keep running into Grace when he's up against some kind of evil and sees that Grace is fighting it too?

Do you think Grace is a fighter or someone who puts pieces into their place and then sits back and lets it happen?
What if she feels drawn to Angel she has a feeling like deja vu that they are suppose to be together, work together but she doesn't know why.

I don't think Grace is a fighter but I think she goes to the fights to see what she can do with her " special powers" that she doesnt quite totally understand.
I like the idea of them running into each other so often that they start to wonder if it's some kind of set up.

She could be standing in the background, behind a pillar or something so people don't see her but Angel notices.

Something like that. Actually, a lot like that. She's always in the background, but no one knows why for a couple of episodes.
But she should be dressed just a little differently - not like Illyria with the leather armor, but maybe something that gives a hint she's not quite of this planet.

If not through what she wares maybe it could be in her eyes? She could maybe look quite regal, almost like a queen looking over her subjects.
Her eyes could have something about them that people find unusual and they may be drawn to them.

You mean like the blue eyes of Illyria? Or more the expression on her face?

If you ever saw the BBC shortlived series Ultraviolet, the vampires had this funky stare - that's kind of what I was thinking - but no funny contacts because that usually means a evil character.
Sometimes it's just the posture or the idea that the character is looking down from on high - maybe that's it.
And the outfit.

What we're thinking of happening is that the first time we will see Grace is at the end of the first ep and we will give the audience the impression that she is evil. Then, I really like the idea of having her in the background of the next few eps - sort of scoping Angel. Then episode five will be an ep dealing with her and in that ep we will kind of learn that she isn't the Big Bad we thought she was. I do like that her eyes might be a little different. It could make her look evil almost. That would throw people off even more. Of course, we're not actually filming this, but we can still write it in.

Lesser demons will fear her for unknown reasons, so we can use that to make her sound like a Big Bad. Some nasty demons who are trying to fight through Angel and Co. to escape something, and at the end we see they were trying to escape Grace. Grace probably doesn't know they were trying to get away from her.

Dismas, I really like that idea. If the bad guys are scared of her, and the bad guys are usually only scared of other bad guys, then it's a hint that she's both powerful and thus a possible bad guy.
