Just thgought that we should work out where Angel and Co. should have their base of operations.
Do they return to the Hyperion Hotel?
Do they just all live in Spike's apartment playing Crash Bandicoot?
Does Angel get a new apartment or something?
Where does Illyria sleep, or rest, or live, or whatever the hell ancient demonic gods do?
Just thought that we should have a thread to work out this before we start writing this. Everyone post their ideas or opinions on this subject?

I have two questions - first is, are the three of them split up and trying to navigate back to each other (in which case they don't really need a base) and second, are they going to try to resurrect Angel Investigations first? If so, I think some subterrean apartment for them all together would make the most sense - at least in the beginning. But I think the Hyperion is out - probably wrecked during the fight with the dragon since dragons breathe fire - if this season is a whole new focus, I think they need a whole new place.

Initially I thought it made a lot of sense for them to just head back to the Hyperion. Then I actually thought about it for a moment and realized that that big apocalyptic battle they were in was right outside the Hyperion so chances are they may not immediately return there.
As for resurrecting AI, Angel will try in Ep. 4 in which I think the Hyperion needs to be around for at least a "guest appearance" so we shouldn't write it out in the first 3 eps.
Good idea for a topic.

Perhaps they'll discover someone else has moved into the Hyperion over the last year and totally changed it. It'll throw yet another wrench into Angel's attempt to bring back AI.

Or the hotel could be a complete wreck and when Angel tries moving back in or something the whole pace could just start falling apart.

well if we have it that AI failes then we could have it happen at the hotel besides it would bee nice to see the Hotel again

Also, since Alan is their new link the TPTB, we shouldn't rule out any kind of home he has. And I like the idea of the Hyperion being ruled out as an option in E.p. 4.

I don't think the Hyperion should be destroyed or anything. I just think at the end of Ep. 4 when Angel realizes that he can't bring back A.I. he simply leaves; he knows that its time to move on.
I just like the idea of AI failing as a business, not because their location is falling apart or destroyed. Besides, I think a final scene with Angel standing in the abandoned hotel, taking one last glance around and then quietly walking out the door would be a powerful scene to end on.

Should the new place be underground or a building? Should it be familiar to Angel or totally new? Should it be for all three or just Angel? Or just Spike? Who does Illyria stick with?
Before we give him a new home, I think we should figure out who's going to live there.

I think Spike kinda started to build a 'friendship' with Illyria when he was working with her at the end of season 5. He even had a nickname for her whereas Angel didn't really interact with her and when he did they argued so maybe she could be living with Spike and Angel could find somewhere to live like in the first season when he lived underground.

Cool. I think Illyria should find the new place for her and Spike - Spike has sort of spartan tastes and I think it's time for the former god to say "I want some fancy pillows and such" so there's more space and more of the character of Illyria in the apartment.
How about an abandoned mansion for Spike & Illyria?

that could work as long as it was different to the one they used in buffy season 2. It could be like the one seen in the first episode of Angel but after it had been abandoned for years.
They could find the place while working on a case.

I think they should find it in like the second episode or so.
Angel came on the Hyperion when he was going through the sewers - maybe Spike & Illyria could find it when they are looking for some place they're supposed to be and get lost - and (grasping at ideas here) getting lost is one of the chaos things that's happening. All the roads keep changing or none of them have signs.

What if they were given somewhere by someone they saved? This guy could leave LA when he sees all the demons and things and leave his mansion behind for Angel and Co as a thank you.

I think to go with the chaos theme, we should not have a centralized location for all of them to live in. Angel should live alone. Spike can have his basement place back. Illyria. . .will actually probably have to live with someone, I guess. Andrew - I'm not so sure. Grace will have her own place, too. And Tobit, also his own place.
That's a lot of places but we don't have to show them all. Or we could. There could be a central place that they all come to work, but not sure where that would be be. Maybe they just go over to Angel's place.

My question is, and feel free to blast me for this, do we want to keep the team in LA at all?
With all hell breaking loose, and given the fact that Wolfram & Hart had holdings in every city, not to mention every dimension, would it really be that big a stretch to change locales?
Granted, LA has always been one of the central characters of the show, but then again, so were Cordy, Doyle, Wesley, etc.

Granted, LA has always been one of the central characters of the show, but then again, so were Cordy, Doyle, Wesley, etc. It's worth considering, but where would they go? LA's where the action is. Leaving the city sounds like they're running away from the big fight. I think they should stay in LA unless there's a great reason to move somewhere else (without sacrificing the ideas we've come up with so far.) Most plots could happen in any city, so why change just for the sake of change? If we're talking about taking a trip for a couple episodes, though, I'm interested. If the chaos gradually spreads from LA, there could be a good reason for Spike and Angel to take a road trip or something.

Road trips near the end could be a good idea, as we don't have a budget problem we could take advantage of that! I do think they need to stay in LA though or it does seem like they are running away.
