Our tentative plan for now is to have Tobit discover that Grace is the rogue Power at the end of ep. 14. In Ep. 15, a new character is going to come into the picture - someone (half-demon or full demon, of course) that receives visions from the Powers. The Powers will indicate to him (or her) that Grace is evil and needs to be killed. He/She will attempt to kill Grace but be stopped by Angel. Angel will explain the circumstances and this new character will become an ally. And then our plan (for now) is to suddenly and brutally have the Powers kill this new character by using Tobit's body - end of ep. 16 (and end of Arc II).
So who is this new character? Do they come out of nowhere? Will we meet them earlier this season, but not know their full background until ep. 15? What's their story?

Hmm, I remember something that Joss Whedon once said that the writers for the shows often create characters depending on the situation in which the characters are applied. IE like if they're dealing with lust then they have a lust demon or if they're doing an episode about jelousy then a jealousy episode. Maybe we could do something like that for this guy? Since the episode is dealing so much in misdirection and lies maybe a shapeshifter or an illusionist or something else that just operates through deceit?
As for the actual character I have nothing. I've been trying to think what kind of people usually do the Powers' work. The only idea that I had is that he could maybe be a champion, someone that has done as much "good" as Angel has done under the Powers' banner.

I thought we were going to use Grusalag ( Do you spell it like that? ) for something similiar to this?

What about Whistler? He'd be bad ass to bring back for a few episodes only thing is I bet most readers wouldn't remember him.

I thought we were going to use Grusalag ( Do you spell it like that? ) for something similiar to this? Yes, the original plan was to use Groo (at least it's easier to spell ) for this idea. The idea was exactly what Drew said right here but using Groo instead of this character. A short while before he resigned Doyle argued heavily with Drew and myself against using Groo. In the end we came to the conclusion that it doesn't necesarily have to be Groo, another character that worked for the Powers would work out fine. But hey, since Doyle swore that he would never return to this site when he left us the biggest advocate against using Groo is gone. So that option might be reopened.

The argument against using Groo was that we really wouldn't be developing his character much. We'd just have him for two eps and then kill him in a shocking way. So I can understand why people wouldn't want to use Groo just for the purpose of having a shocking death. But I also believe we could do more than just that. And I can also make the argument that - hey - sometimes people get killed before they can evolve anymore as characters. That's just life (or TV life or something). Fred's death certainly came out of the blue.
So I'm open to a new character or Groo or whomever.

While that this is true it would serve one very big purpose. It would go to show just how far the Powers' influence has extended. We would have been developing the theme that Angel has basically become a hollow slave of the Powers. This would show that it's not only Angel, that all of the great champions of good are now basically puppets for the great Powers. The viewers would already be questioning Angel's actions, this might make them question the actions of the "good side" all together.
