Oh, and as for names, how 'bout something like Nexus Point Station? Double-meaning obviously, but a lot of shelters seem to have names that sound like they belong to train depots.

Wow, lots to catch up on and I was only gone for what, 2 days?
How about the shelter was originally funded by a shell company of Wolfram & Hart, and with their demise the funding gets cut off (obviously) and that's when Tobit tells them they gotta start paying or do a fund raiser.
Second, the idea of it being a former old folks home is kinda lame but I like the idea of an old woman thinking it was. If it never was one, though, she would look even crazier and there's more lines you could give her on that idea.
Third - Nexus is a bit obvious - I think something with a Spanish name would work.. Casa de Angeles? It is, after all, Los Angeles and LA is full of Spanish names.

How 'bout Casa del Dios Caído, or CDC for short?

How 'bout Casa del Dios Caído, or CDC for short? Does that have some kind of meaning? I don't know Spanish on beyond the obvious.

How 'bout Casa del Dios Caído, or CDC for short? I could look up Caído, but I don't want to. What's it mean? I like the idea of making the name spanish. Casa de Angeles is a good choice. Well, we're thinking Tobit wouldn't make the demons pay until later in the season and W&H collapsed at the beginning. My biggest support for the idea that it used to be a retirement home comes from the thought that Angel and Spike and Illyria are old. And at the beginning of this season, they are wondering if their time is over. So good thematically, at least - at least for me.

Spanish is my first language. If I know half a shit "Casa del Dios Caido" can be more or less translated to "House of the Fallen God"

House of the Fallen God is exactly right ;D
I dunno, to me it just sounds better than Casa de Angeles.... I mean, do we really have to hit people over the head? Angel, Angelus, Las Angeles, City of Angels... one more angel reference and I'm liable to sprout wings and a halo and ascend--
oh, wait...

All right, Casa del Dios Caido could be approved. Any objections?

I like the name, but why would it be called House of the Fallen God? How could we use this name later? Could the name plural? How do you make Dios plural? Los Dioses? Man, eight years of spanish. Nothing stuck, honest to God - I mean, Dios.

I suppose its sort of ironic that Grace is kinda a fallen god and Tobit is running a sheltor called house of the falled god.

I just had a really wicked idea!! What if The Immortal funds the Shelter. That would really be salt in Angel's wounds.

I suppose its sort of ironic that Grace is kinda a fallen god and Tobit is running a sheltor called house of the falled god. Yeah, I guess. Grace doesn't really have anything to do with the Shelter (as of yet). I guess it could kind of foreshadow the downfall of the Powers, but we don't want to make that too obvious at the beginning. As for the Immortal, I think we decided days into this site that showing the Immortal would be contrary to what the Immortal stands for - namely the guy that's always better than you. He's better in the imagination than physically in the show.

Yeah, Gods=Dioses. Now, if we had it be just Casa del Dios Caido then it would just be a paralel with Grace, just a little neat thing. But if we had Casa de los Dioses Caidos then it is a lot of foreshadowing, which isn't a bad thing, but might give a way the ending.
I vote for Casa del Dios Caido.

So do I. I just wrote a joke about it in ep. 1 that I like so....
Was this also the name of the retirement home? That might be weird. I think they probably changed it.

To add to the irony it could have been named something like "The Graceful Arms Retirement Center" or something to that effect.

If you wanna move "Grace" into the shelter's original name, how 'bout:
1) Grace Garden Court
2) Saving Grace Resthome
3) Graceful Exit Retirement Center
FYI: Only #2 is made up, the other two are names of actual places.

I think adding Grace to the name would be hitting the audience over the head too much.

Man, I really have to make my jokes MUCH more obvious. I was fucking around, it would be way too much to name it with Grace in there.
