Okay, so we know that when Illyria went to get her army they were all gone and Knox was shot and killed by Wes, but didn't Knox mention that there were a few of her devoted followers still scattered about? If there are others out there who are like Knox, wouldn't they be coming to see their god?
Thoughts?

Hmm ... I sense a good stand alone episode here.

Maybe its a great segueway for a new recurring character. And maybe we could integrate this character into the shelter somehow as well?

Maybe there's some underground demon network waiting for Illyria and she finds out about it at the shelter and makes friends with one of her network-y demons and then figures out she has to hustle because Fred is emerging more strongly.
Ok, lame idea - but I think as a concept the army networking through demon shelters has potential.

Hmm, I don't know how these guys will react to actually seeing Illyria. I think that they would mostly feel disapointed and/or jiped.
Exhibit A. Illyria was suppposed to destory the Earth with her army of doom. But that never happened, did it? I don't think anyone explained the details to these guys.
Exhibit B. Illyria has lost 97.8% of her power. I really don't think that a super-strong demon qualifys as a god.
Just saying that these guys may not have the best feelings towards Illyria.

Well, then .. maybe it could be that her old fan club (so to speak) finds out about her return and their reaction to her subsequent loss of powers is the basis for the episode. Like, some demon could hear that she's back, they know the demn horde of the Black Thorns got whammied and think maybe Illyria's the one responsible, and they go looking for her and oh, whoops, she's emasculated (so to speak) so they don't quite know what to do next. So they join up with the army against the humans, perhaps?

Would they maybe turn on her because basically, as their god, she has failed them immensely.

Oh yeah, I just reread yours. You did pretty much say that.

I like this idea.
What kind of people or creatures will her followers be? Knox and the doctor weren't exactly fearsome. They could be a bunch of losers, like the kind even Andrew could make fun of. They'll probably find themselves a new, more powerful god to follow, who Illyria can slay in the climax.

I don't know what everyone else thinks but I don't like the idea of them being losers, we don't want to turn too many bad guys into comic value. I think it would work better if Angel expected them to be losers because of Knox etc and then was met with quite a powerful network of people throughout the world. Problem with that then is, how do we defeat them? Or at least end the episode???

There's one thing that I think most people overlook. It may not affect anything in the long run, but Illyria, does not LOOK like Illyria, she looks Fred gone through some horrible Smurf cloning experiment gone awry.
Now she's lost most of her power, who's to say that any of her followers would even recognize her? She doesn't look like Illyria, hell, she doesn't even smell like Illyria. Could make for an interesting connundrum; Angel & Co. wanting to avoid her cult, while she herself is desperately trying to convince them that she is who she claims to be.

Yup.. I still this would be a good stand alone, filler kind of episode. I think we should resolve the Illyria thing before she morphs into the semi Fred.

Hmmm...not sure we'll be able to fit it in before then. Unless Joss wants to consider it as an idea for ep. 8 - but he might already be doing something else.

Hmm, the only way that this could possibly work would be too somehow cramm it in as a sub-plot in Episode 7. I don't know. If the writer is up to it then fine, but otherwise... I don't think that it could really fit into episode 8.
Man, we have so much... it is becoming really hard to figure out where we can fit everything in. And what we can't fit in.

Sigh, I think you only want me to say it, cause it was my idea... ass. lol. I don't think this idea will work. The timing is really off and there are still no concrete plans of what to do with it. It's becoming a time waster. There are too many ideas here that are going somewhere that need attention and this is just sapping creativity away from those just by it being here. I propose a "yay" or "nay" vote to kill it. "Yay" being "Yes, kill it, kill it now!" while "Nay" being "No, lets waste more time trying to make this idea work when its so obviously not coming together!" I'll go first: "yay"
