Yes sadly True Calling has been cancelled. The series was cut from 13 episodes to 6. Then as the sixth episode was wrapping the news came through that it wouldn't be back. There are no plans to air the final six episodes but they may be released on DVD. In one of lifes curious twists though the word is that the show is being pitched to, get this, WB. God has a sense of humour all right. See the full story here. www.moviehole.net/news/4325.html

Arrrrrgh!!! Yeah, that's just what we need, Tru Calling kills our fantasies of seeing more Faith, and then lands on the network that killed our fantasies of seeing more of Angel.
What next, a swarm of locusts?

the state of US network TV fills me with sadness every single day. they'll pitch stuff till they're blue in the face, push it like crazy for a few weeks, and then if it doesn't pull in 5 million viewers inside of four weeks they pull the plug!
and yet they still want more shows!
they wonder why they get so much crap, nobody with a decent idea wants to trust them...

Tv is dead man. Right now all that the networks care about is reality TV. I admit it was kinda cool... for three seconds. And that was like 5 years ago.
The other day I was disguted by reading an interview to a film critic. The guy was asked what he thinks is "in" this season. His response:
Two things: sex and money. Which is why the O.C. and Nip/Tuck are the two best shows on Tv right now, they're about rich people having sex all the time. And why all of the shows that don't follow this formula are destined to fall.
And the sad thing is that the acting and stories on shows like The O.C. are actually called "genius" by some people.

The O.C. is just Dawson's Creek but the characters have more money! Or am I missing something here?
At least shows like Dead Like Me are still going, but they're depressingly few in number! I'm actually a big fan of Nip/Tuck but that's because I think it's a well-written show that has a little bit of everything in it.
This new series of Six Feet Under is good, but I'm getting a bit sick of there being so much sex in it each week! Each scene just seems to be a way to segue from one bedroom to the next at the moment...
I'm the sort of guy who finds on-screen love scenes intensely annoying. I know these people are having sex, i don't need to see it! Nip/Tuck at least seems to know to make a joke out of it...

Tru Calling only starts here today. Im totally pissed that its cancelled already. I wish some rich guy would start his own network with Buffy, Angel, firefly, Tru Calling, Dark Angel, Fastlane, Haunted ( Pretty much all the decent programs that have been unexplicably cancelled ). It would be the most popular fledgling network in history.

Tru Calling wasn't great, I'll admit, but it did get a pretty raw deal. Networks want Survivor-beating ratings within four weeks or they pull the plug. And then they wonder why no-one pitches a good new show to them!
Lost may be kicking arse at the moment, but if the ratings on that start to drop even a little bit, it'll be gone.
And glad someone else noticed that Haunted was a good show too! Now all we need is for them to bring back the excellent Brimstone...

Networks want Survivor-beating ratings within four weeks or they pull the plug. And then they wonder why no-one pitches a good new show to them! Yeah, no kidding. A prime example of this is the Clerks cartoon. What the hell were they thinking? "Yeah, let's put a very adult-oriented cartoon on a kid-friendly network. Then, we'll put it on a night and time-slot that pretty much guarantees no one will see it. And, ah hell, just for good measure, let's air it out of order so no one will get any of the jokes." Cancelled after only two episodes. Should anyone have been surprised? Why did ABC even bother?

Try watching a few episodes and see if you still feel the same way. Heh. Did anyone ever read the Television Without Pity reviews of the Tru Calling eps? I never watched the show, but those reviews were some of the most hilarious and wonderful things I have ever read. I encourage you to go to the site and read them. A good time will be had, I promise you that. ;D

Cancelled after only two episodes. Should anyone have been surprised? Why did ABC even bother? beats me. so i bought the DVD boxset instead ^_^ Kev says bitterly at one point on the features how they were offered a 22-episode deal on another network, but they went with ABC 'cause they weren't sure they could produce 22 quality episodes in time. He adds, shaking his head sadly, 'we should have gone for the other guys...'
