Ok, so the ideas section is gone... Sucks for me. Here's a thought I've had for some time now. Vampires are apparently just above humans on the food chain. So why not have an easier method of killing them than hand to hand. What say you to.... Wooden Bullets? It might work, It might not work. Hell, the wooden tips might even splinter before they leave the barrel of the gun. What do you think?
P.S. Before I leave, and instead of starting a new thread, I must say something. All throughout Buffy, and Angel, Vampires have been tranqued. I'd like to know how this is possible. They don't breathe, their hearts don't beat, therefore no blood circulation. How can a tranquilizer dart to the arm or even chest knock out a vampire? He/she'd have to be shot in the head for it to work.
Ok, I'm done.

Hmm, I like idea of some wooden bullets. But I guess the question is: with Wesley gone who would use them? I don't know. But still it is a very cool idea.
Now, one the matter of vamps tranqued it is not the only thing that is pretty much factually imposible/improbable. Joss Whedon has said himself that he has given greenlight to some ideas which have factual problems because of convinience. The two that I can think of right now are that a vamp's clothes go to dust whenever a vampire is dusted and that male vampires can have sex (an erection requires bloodflow). A lot of things like that have happened in the show and have been forgiven for the sake of the story and convinience.

Who would use wooden bullets? Pretty much anybody who is fed up with having to fight with a vampire everytime they go outside. But if you want someone specific. Here are two. Andrew, for one. And, if what I hear is true and Fred comes back... Fred. She could even be the one to come up with the idea. She does like to build things. At least she did when she first came on the scene. Then there's always Gunn's old crew... Should they choose to make an appearance. P.S. I like the new pic a lot better than Robot Devil.

It's kind of a cool idea. But yeah, the bullets would probably be destroyed in the gun. Maybe wood within a normal bullet - don't know if that'd kill them.
I'm gonna move this thread to the scrapbook - I think this is the kind of thread that belongs there - just general ideas.

New wish list item - can we have both Spike and Illyria at some point become hooked on a computer game? Both were kind on intense players - Spike after "Damage" and Illyria in the episode where she's playing some game with Dragyn.
I think it has humorous possibilities.

lol, I can totally see Illyira getting hooked on something like Doom or Mortal Kombat.
Hey, maybe we should start a thread called the wishlist for all these little things...

But wouldn't the whole 'Gun' issue be out of sink with Angel, guns killing vamps isn't a new concept to it's not like it would never have occurred to Joss. But guns are symbol of something wrong and bad outside of the demon reality. I think putting them in as a reoccurring object like the wrist stakes (which should come back )Would be bad they'd seem to cliché and out of place. If they were to be used Rondel or someone in that gang would be best to show how through the slayers, demons, demons with souls, humans with the mission it is Humans without the mission who adapt and are on the transition between evil and good by perspective. Hm that was a little deep.

actually, and this might be totally wrong, but I was gonna give Roland a gun with some wooden bullets... not that I was planning on having him use them to success, but he's based on a gunslinger, so I thought it'd be a fun lil' nod...

The weapon just seems gimmicky and cheap. Would also cut down on the action. If the idea of Angel and Buffy were about gun slinging it would have done so earlier (Wesley aside.) Maybe if it were to be used the weapon should have some prestige by having a scene where it's created.

Unless the gun/wooden bullets are used really effectively and don't come off in any way as stupid, I'd say we don't use them. The only thing that matters is if it works, and if it works, then we've got no problem.

Well, the idea was not so much for him to actually use the gun; rather it was intended as an example of the odd split of the character, that while he seeks to excel at channeling demonic forces, he despises demons in their literal form, particularly demon halfbreeds like vampires.

I discussed this one with my wife, heretofore known as Mountaingirl, and here's our take. Why do vampires drink blood? Well, there's a few possible explanations there, but in essence, it keeps their bodies from atrophy. The blood flows through their systems, however weakly, and basically keeps everything well-lubed, for lack of a better word. We've seen what happens when a vampire doesn't feed; they live, but it sure ain't pretty. So, even though they produce and circulate no blood of their own, there is blood in a vamp's system during a certain period after feeding. Closer examination may prove the theory wrong, but as long as a vampire has fed fairly recently, there is a certain amount of flow in the system for a tranq (or even alcohol, for that matter) to work. But, the flow would be quite slow, moved only by itself and not by a beating heart. If you watch the episode "I Fall to Pieces" Angel does in fact get tranqed, but the effect is much shorter than it should have been. Could it be that the tranquilizer did not go throughout his body quickly enough to get the entire effect?
