This is for discussion of Everlong's idea about some demon that puts our heroes in their greatest fantasy. Also for discussion on Inyan's idea about some demon that puts our heroes in their greatest fear. (I don't think we'll be having an ep for each idea as that would be too repetative - hence they have one thread - maybe this isn't the best way to go about it, but....meh)
Hopefully Everlong and Inyan will post summaries again. Otherwise, see New Episode Ideas for more info - but continue the discussion here. We will shut down "New Episode Ideas" in a week or so in favor of the Scrapbook way of doing things.

AddictionThere is a species of demon who can create powerful mental projections (His/her powers are similar to Jason 142 from X-Men 2). This demon (For sake of argument I'll refer to it as him.) prays on people and demons alike giving them the chance to live out their hearts fondest wish. They can be a rock star, a famous sportsman or even experience the love of a family that they never had. However the demon doesn't do this out of the kindness of his heart obviously. He only gives them a taste. To get more they have to do things for him. Now one of the demon shelter regulars just happens to be one of his 'clients'. He/she begins to act like the title suggests - like an addict looking for a fix. Since this en-souled demon is normally rather passive the Fang Gang figure something is up and swing into action. Of course the anti-drug message is there. But the real hook for this episode would be that at some point Angel and the gang get caught up in their own personal fantasies. It would be interesting to see the fondest desire of Angel, Spike and co. Norgat is a warlock that takes you biggest fear and makes you live through it. He then draws your emotional pain away and feeds it into a third party as intense pleasure, for which he gets quite hansomly paid I might add. While the gang is in the sewers looking for some demon, Norgat senses them, probes their mind and finds their fears. He likes what he sees and captures the gang. Angel fears that Conner still blames him for his weird-ass life. Spike fears that his soul is not pure enough to fight his demon side. Illyria fears that the memories of Fred will overpower her and destroy her. The gang must realise what is going on, break free of Norgats spell and kill him. I think we need to decide fantasy or fear. Maybe the reality could start of perfect and then cannonball into twisted?

What I would vote we do is that the heroes begin to slowly slip into fantasy at first. For life the first half of the episode the gang is trapped between the real world and fantasy. Then as they slwoly realize what is going on the fantasy world begin to take a turn for the worst and wacky horror ensues.
Rip it to shreds.

Maybe the fantasy has some kind of defense machanism wherein they realise it's not real and then it becomes a nightmare. Okay I realise thats bascially what Joss just said but I'd have it as kind of a "be careful what you wish for" thing.
If we do this this episode then Fred will be in here somewhere. We need something for her.

This would be hard to do without
Angel - Buffy/Cordy and Connor (perhaps Wes and Gunn too.)
Spike - Buffy
Andrew - Warren, Jonathan,
Fred - Wes
Illyria - who knows she's ruler of the world.
That's no less than 7 dead people returning granted only for fantasies but you could imagine our heroes greatest fear would be to loose them or for them to turn against you which means you would have to have long tense scenes with each. But with the rules set out bringing this many people back seems to break a few rules.

Not really. We can work around that with a bit of creative writing. Besides, living your ultimate dream doesn't have to mean a person. I think Angel and Spike have moved past Buffy anyway.
