hey your on to something again Drew. How funny would it be for Angel to be walking the streets at night feeling down and useless after throwing the world into chaos only to stumble onto a vamp scene and immediately leaps in to play hero but quickly pulls himself back when a slayer steps in and takes out the vamps in 2 secs....thus proving that he may not be needed in this world any longer afterall and making him feel even crappier. It could totally be played for comic effect all the while being a real "moment" with the character. That would be a fun scene. Don't know if we could really work it in, but hey, thats why were brainstorming, right?

I think the problem is that we have half buffyverse fans and half just ANGEL fans. THe fact is folks that Buffy is part of the show as it started with her and the purpose of her on Angel in guest appearances was not to overshadow Angel but to put Angel in the situation or damn my true love is back. IT made Angel think, cry, react, whatever.
Now we know that they wanted her to come back for a SIX EP arc. Thats pretty big even for Buffys standards so something big was suppossed to happen. I actually thought they would bring her back just as Joss said above and have her want Angel back and they are sorta happy. However, i always thought they would kill her. I mean really kill her and it would send Angel off the edge. If anyones noticed they have given Angel everything from, true loves, friends, and a sorta family and one by one taken it away. IF you notice the whole premise of the show was the vampire with a soul fighting for redemption. How else are you going to give him redemption unless he has to go through every torture, every heartbreak? Hes gone through everything and I think killing Buffy either by the SP doing or turning her vamp and killing her - whichever, will be the straw that breaks the camels back. I think this can be done definitly. If we are going to go with the whole season leading up the the final apocolypse which is where things seemed to be going and chaos slowing taking over by the SP then this could be good. By killing Buffy it takes Angel out of the fight. He quits fighting for good and against evil> Check out the WHere do we go from Here thread to see how i see this all ending.

Can someone link me to an article regarding having buffy in for a 6 ep arc? I'd like to see it as I can't belive Joss would even consider attempting something like that. Was it just a comment like "I'd love to have her back for a 6 episode arc if was possible but you know..."and basically making a comment of "what would be nice, but not gonna happen". Sarah would never commit to such a thing at this point so I find it odd that they would "plan" for that to occur.

I dont know about a weblink but the first time I saw this mentioned was way before the cancellation was announced. I dunno if they still have it up but the WB had a vid interview with Joss and they were talking about guest appearances and shit. (Can I say shit on here) When he came to the character of buffy he mentioned having here back next year for a big story arc as this was just not the right time to reprieve the character.
After the cancellation I heard this again posted by either Joss Whedon or Grenwald, one of the people on the show, on the BRONZE BETA posting board. It was really sad because they were talking about how it was a shock and what they were planning on doing next year. I hate the WB. Sixth season would be great.

I didnt know about the BronzBeta post. I heard about it but since im not registered there I couldnt get the full scoop. I heard about it from the WB website which since then it has been taken out apparently as the link from spoilerslayer.com brings me to a blank webpage on the WB site. In any case it wasnt anything confirmed as neither he or Sarah would be able to tell if she would be availabe to shot. It was just something that Joss had in his head to do. It makes sense to me since they all planned to have S6 of Angel be the last season, they would try to close that story line which has always been a big one (and very well done imo, as it never overshadowed the characters on Angel or the story) I always saw the show ending with Angel getting his reward and being with Buffy.
Since were on this topic of Buffy guesting on Angel i was reading an interview or letter on Whedonesque.com with Joss and his comments/thoughts about the cancellation:
”Bunk”, claims Whedon. The numbers from The WB itself showed that Angel’s ratings were up from last season, in part because of changes to the show that network requested and Whedon readily agreed to, including the shifting of the reluctant good-guy vampire Spike (James Marsters) from Buffy and the use of more self-inclusive episodes.
Ya know Angel when he appeared in the Buffy final episodes I felt was very out of place. Actually the whole getting the amulet at the last minute and using it to save the scoobies always felt like a cop out and very forced. Maybe this is why they did it? Because the exec were pushing to have SPike on Angel to spice it up and that was the best way to have him do what he had to on Buffy (which was die and imo would have stayed dead) and then resurect him on Angel without it being cheesy? Anyone else feel this way?
Just something i always thought, probably out of place here. lol sorry.

Anyone else feel this way? I think that is exactly why they brought angel on and why they had the amulet. I always thought it was weird how Angel arrived and the whole deus ex machina of the amulet. But they needed to do that to get Spike on Angel - to bring him over to "save" Angel. So essentially - and this is just my opinion - the quality at the end of Buffy had to be kind of sacrificed so that Angel could have another season. Still, "Chosen" was a great ep.

Buffy's story ended with the end of BtVS. Let's leave it there.
Besides how 'real' do you want to play this? If you're playing this as real a show as possible you'd never have Buffy anyway. SMG is tired of the role and dosen't want to play the part again, hence Buffy's non-appearance in "The Girl in Question".

I'm against any Buffy appearances just for the sake of having a crossover, but I don't want to rule it out either. Are you sure that SMG would never do Buffy again? I think she just wants some time away from it. She could pop in for a few episodes late in the season if we have a good reason. If Angel attempts something as drastic as revealing the demon world to the human world or attacking the Powers That Be, certain good guys might object and trry to stop him. I think a late appearance by a pissed off Buffy could fit our themes.

I think if SMG could she would do a cameo in the series finale like Angel did in BTVS. Just maybe, even if it was brief.

Im pretty much against Buffy HOWEVER Dismas- I kinda dig that idea. as I really like the idea that these two "teams" (scoobies/ fangs) arent really on the same side anymore, and Id loooove to explore that, so yeah, I think maybe thatd be interesting HOWEVER "late in the season" ? ?? "late appearance" I think IF this were to happen , making it happen towards the end of the season is kinda giving Buffy too much attention. Cancer out
